Community Guidelines

Be Who You Say You Are

Your photos are recent and of you. Your name is your name. Your age is real. Profiles that misrepresent someone are removed, and the person is barred from reapplying.

Treat the Vote with Respect

Give every applicant a real look before you vote. Don't vote to get through the ballot. Don't coordinate votes with others, and never contact an applicant about their vote. Members whose votes drift far from the community's decisions lose their membership.

No Harassment

No unwanted sexual messages, no insults, no pressure after a no, and no contacting someone through other channels after they've ended an introduction or blocked you.

No Hate

Nothing that demeans anyone for their religion, ethnicity, nationality, disability, body, or anything else about who they are. This includes answers, photos, and letters.

Keep It Legal and Keep It Clean

No nudity or sexual content in photos or answers. No drugs, weapons, or illegal activity. No commercial use: no promoting a business, soliciting, or selling anything.

Protect Each Other's Privacy

What you see on Élu stays on Élu. No screenshots of other members shared outside the app, no sharing someone's details, and no using the app to find or follow someone elsewhere without their consent.

One Account, 18 and Over

One account per person, and you must be at least 18. Accounts for other people, shared accounts, and accounts for anyone under 18 are removed.

What Happens When a Rule Is Broken

We review every report. Depending on what happened, we warn, remove content, end a membership, or bar the person from reapplying. Serious safety matters are reported to the authorities.
